GOD SENDING ME TO KENYA 2011

My mission trip to Kenya was after God speaking to me to join Mercy Outreach Ministries International from Molalla Oregon. This was Norberg’s family, by their names; David the father, Cynthia the wife with their two children Jedidiah 17years and Wyatt 12years. These are founders of this Organization in USA, as they were also praying asking God to direct them to someone in Africa who can join them to go with in Kenya for the missionary humanitarian work God had commissioned them to do if indeed He was the one sending them to do so. It was a sign to prove God’s calling in their lives to go to such a furthest place in Africa; they didn’t have money with them to move but God was sending them to Kenya.

Then afterwards I sent an email top them for a word of revelation from the Lord; at receiving my email, I was an answer from God towards their prayers and imagine God had given them the same word of revelation I sent to them. This was “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Hebrews6:9 It was not easy to accept to go to a place you have not been to and given the fact that, it involved so long distance away from home. Nevertheless; God says you go…am I not sending you and my ways are not your ways! So they did believe this to be a divine connection with me an African missionary from Uganda Africa. After all this, we accepted to organize our mission trip to Kenya though neither I nor they have ever been to there. On getting ready to our mission, just few days past, God again connected as to an African missionary in Kenya who was a friend to the friend of this Noberg’s family who came to know each other while in Tanzania in 2005. So it was their friend in Tanzania who knew this Missionary in Kenya and so connected us together for God’s work. This was indeed a great pleasure for me, being invited to serve the Lord’s hurting people in another Country.

We were to carry out charity work by drilling a well for safe water to the local people of Kakuma Turkana West District in Kenya where there is lack of water due to so many droughts in the area. Also to preach the gospel of Christ to the people in the area, organizing conferences in the local churches, ministering in Kakuma Refuge Camp, providing medical supplies, and giving out clothing’s to the naked children and to help some hungry adults with food. So this was the purpose of our mission trip and we all met in Nairobi Kenya. I travelled from Uganda my Country to Kenya on 8th August 2011 until 9th September 2011 by Easy Coach Bus for 14hours. We spent some 4days while in Nairobi for getting used to the environment especially to Mercy outreach Team from USA since me we do have the same time range with for Kenya.
When the 4days were over, we had to board a Bus with so many bags that contained medical supplies, clothes and 2Tents which we were to sleep in after reaching to Kakuma village where our target for this mission was to take place. This took us 27hours while in the bus travelling day and night before arriving to Kakuma where we were going, the road was so bad and the bus itself was congested with lugagges and uncomfortable and this caused one of our team a son of Norberg who was only 17years by his name Jedidiah got sick and as the bus had also had a mechanical problem, it had a stop over for maintenance and we too get out and get to a small restaurant for some medication and rest. We also prayed for him as well, calling upon Jesus’ compassion to heal him.

Afterwards Jedidiah got well so soon, we get back into the Bus then on our way, and by God’s grace we arrived in Kakuma morning the following day. Pastor John and his church elders of Cornerstone Ministries International located In Kakuma with great joy welcomed us with a Matatu vehicle to take us with the bags at his home. Thereafter at Pastor John’s home, we started making a program on what to first carry out. It was so amazing, time after time, we were buying water drinking because this area was extremely so dry with no green plant at all, this was really a desert. People in such an area rear animals, goats, sheep; camels and do live for meat and milk from these animals. The kinds of house which are lived in are temporary made of boxes with no doors and windows. Additional to this, no safe water for drinking, water is got from holes under the ground and most people walk almost without clothes. After spending one full month in Kenya, we all returned back home and we hope to go back for ministry works when God says go... May God bless Kenya and Norberg family for accepting God’s call!

Words of wisdom.

Have you learned to take a long-term look at your short-term problems? Whenever something frustrating happens, don't immediately become upset. Instead, ask yourself if this problem is really worth getting aggravated over: is this a five minute problem, a five hour problem, a five month problem, or a five year problem?

For example, if you can't find where around your house you left your car keys, don't let that steal your love, joy, peace, or patience. Being five minutes late to most things is not worth losing your joy. Similarly if you're stuck in a traffic jam, don't let that ruin your Fruit of the Spirit. It's not worth getting upset and uptight about a ten minute delay on your way to work. Indeed, ten minutes is nothing compared to all of eternity.

Also, remember that God may be using your short-term problem for a long-term purpose. That's why James 1:2-4 says, Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. God will work through your current trials and difficulties in order to produce lasting benefits such as faith, perseverance, and spiritual maturity. That's why it's important to take a long-term look at your short-term problems.
